Little Green® Mini Portable Carpet Cleaner

Why we tested it

The Bissell Little Green Mini caught our attention by promising the legendary stain-lifting power of the original Little Green in a significantly more compact, lightweight frame. We wanted to determine if this 'mini-fied' version sacrifices performance for portability or if it truly maintains the suction strength required for real-world accidents. With its 7-pound design, it addresses the specific pain point of storage in small apartments and the need for quick, grab-and-go cleanup of everyday spills. We tested it to see if it remains a viable tool for pet owners and busy households who need a dedicated spot cleaner that doesn't dominate their limited closet space.

Who it's for

This cleaner is ideal for residents of small apartments or homes with limited storage who need a dedicated tool for spot-cleaning area rugs, upholstery, and car interiors. It is perfect for pet owners dealing with frequent, minor accidents or anyone who prefers a lightweight device over hauling out a full-sized carpet cleaner. However, those with large, wall-to-wall carpeted homes or deep-set, old stains should look for a more robust, full-sized machine, as the Mini is specifically engineered for quick, surface-level maintenance rather than heavy-duty, whole-room restoration.

Real-world performance

In real-world testing, the Little Green Mini performs impressively for its size. Users report that it excels at lifting fresh spills, dirt, and pet messes from upholstery and area rugs with surprising efficiency. The suction power is consistent with the brand's reputation, effectively pulling moisture and debris from soft surfaces. While the smaller tank means you will be emptying and refilling more often than with the original model, the trade-off for portability is generally viewed as a positive. It handles tight corners and car seats with ease, making it a highly practical tool for daily maintenance. While it won't replace a full-sized deep cleaner for heavy-duty tasks, it consistently delivers on its promise of quick, effective spot cleaning for the minor accidents that define modern home life.
